*Summary of the positions’ key areas of accountability:*

*Program Officer:*
Will ensure successful and fully coordinated and integrated
implementation of co and extra curricula activities in School
Improvement Program. School Improvement Program is implemented in
partnership with AMIDEAST and funded by USAID.
To accomplish the scope of work the post holder is expected to provide
technical and administrative support which is focused regionally on a
set of schools and technical
across the West bank and Jerusalem schools as needed.

Working closely with peer officers in the program, the expected officer
will resume
extensive coordination responsibilities with teachers, counsellors,
school administrators, Ministry/Directorate level staff, private sector
representatives and other
community and youth organizations and stakeholders. This position is
seconded to
AMIDEAST and based in AMIDEAST offices in Nablus and Hebron.

*Key Areas of Rsponsibilities:*
*Coordination:*
• Coordinate Co and Extracurricular activities within School Improvement
Program, coordination efforts include schools, MOE Directorates, private
sector partners, LNGOs, and other stakeholders.
*Planning and support intervention detailed design:*
• Work with the team, schools, community and partners to conduct
assessments, organization and facilitation of meetings/workshops,
preparing reports and develop action plans. Assisting project manager
with conceptual design of program and development of annual
implementation plans and any follow on amendments and modifications.

*Program Implementation:*
• Monitor progress versus approved plans in the co and extra curricula
activities in target region/schools ensuring quality, timely and cost
effective implementation, including conducting field visits, monitoring
schools and partners’
performance, collecting related data for reporting and implementing
procurement related activities.

*Qualification, Skills and Experience required:*
• Bachelors degree, preferably in education, International development,
social sciences, Youth and family development, sports, workforce
development, or a related field; 
• At least 5 years of coordination/administrative experience in project
implementation;
• Experience working in schools or educational settings with youth;
• Previous experience working in career guidance and co-extra curricula
programs is required.
• Excellent training and facilitation skills, previous Training of
Trainer skills is an asset
• Fluency in Arabic and English;
• Strong English writing skills;
• Preferred previous experience working on a USAID-funded project;
• A self-starter, able to take the lead on individual initiatives;
• Able to travel widely throughout the West Bank;
• Advanced proficiency in Word and Excel mandatory;
• Ability to manage multiple administrative tasks with ease; and
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight
deadlines.

• Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices and
hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies
• Understanding of Save the Children’s vision and mission and a
commitment to its objectives.

Starting Date: October 1st, 2013
Contract duration: around 3 years.
